Amanda Berry is slowly putting her life back together. Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight were held captive for a decade by Ariel Castro in a Cleveland home.
The 27-year old finally escaped from the home in May after being held against her will since 2003.
On Saturday (July 27) Berry took one more step as she attempts to return to normalcy when she attended Cleveland's RoverFest. She took the stage to applause from the crowd and later joined Nelly during his performance.
"She waved to the crowd, everyone went crazy cheering, and she went backstage. Nelly did his set, 4 or 5 songs, and then he brought her out again and everyone cheered," concertgoer Kayleigh Fladung told Cleveland.com.
Castro will spend the rest of his days behind bars after being sentenced to life and 1,000 years in prison.
