Video After The Jump Ninemsn Reports A mobile phone video has been released that shows a California police officer pulling a man from a train and smashing his head through a window. The officer is seen pulling 37-year-old Michael Gibson off a train in Oakland and taking him towards the window. The man collides with it, causing the glass to shatter onto both men. Both the officer and Gibson suffered minor injuries in the incident, which happened on Saturday evening. Gibson has been arrested on suspicion of battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. The officer in the video is currently under investigation for using excessive force. Bay Area Rapid Transit officials called a press conference soon after the video of the incident first appeared on YouTube. “We are keenly aware of what YouTube brings to the public,” BART police patrol Commander Daniel Hartwig said. “We want to assure the public that we are moving forward. We are not waiting. “We are investigating this to the fullest extent.” The quick response from the department appears to be an attempt to avoid a repeat of a similar situation that stormed out of control early this year. In January, a video which was posted online showed a Bay Area officer fatally shooting unarmed man Oscar Grant III. The video caused widespread outrage and led to riots in the community.
