Bad Boy Records is revamping its roster. The label that Diddy built from the ground up is looking for and signing new talent. Cleveland's Machine Gun Kelly signed with the label earlier in the year and yesterday on 106 & Park, Diddy made the announcement that French Montana has also joined the team.
“I represent New York for the fullest,” Diddy said. “For real, can’t nothing move in this city without us being a part of it. We the Yankees of this whole thing. It’s time for us to get what we supposed to get. [French] got them pinstripes on and he ready to hit it out the park.”
French said he had offers from all of the majors but in the end decided Bad Boy was the best fit.
“Why would I take my talent to South Beach?" French joked. "When I met with Puff and sat down and really spoke, he told me a couple of things and [he] never lied to me about nothing and always kept his word. It is what it is. It’s New York. I want to bring it back to New York.”
At various points throughout the show, Diddy brought out members of the team. Machine Gun Kelly, Cassie and Red Cafe all made appearances.
Red performed "Hottest in the Hood" and "Fly Together" featuring Ryan Leslie.
