Davonté McCullough, better known as AroundTheWay Té, may have only started making music in April 2025, but his rise has been nothing short of rapid. In just four months, he has amassed over 164,000 views across all social platforms and worked alongside notable artists such as Lewie from Tacoma and Ethan Tucker from Olympia, a former contestant on The Voice in 2016.
Raised in an environment where old-school influences ran deep, AroundTheWay Té’s sound is unmistakably his own. He was brought up by cousins who were 80s babies, and that upbringing shaped him into a storyteller who weaves vivid narratives into his tracks. His lyrics draw directly from his personal experiences—growing up surrounded by gang activity, domestic struggles, and the harsh realities of addiction.
Despite the challenges of balancing family life with a growing music career, Té has embraced time management to keep his priorities straight. His motivation comes not only from the positive reception of his community and online fans but also from the pride of his children, who think it’s “cool” their dad is dropping music videos.
As an independent artist, Té runs Sell Or Be Poor Records LLC with his partner Caleb Tucker. His extroverted nature makes collaboration second nature—whether he’s connecting with producers through Instagram or approaching artists directly at live shows.
