One of the most exciting players to ever hit the court in the NBA is about to lose one of his most prized possessions. Former all-star guard Allen Iverson's $4.5 million Atlanta mansion and all of its belongings will be hitting the auction block on December 4th unless A.I. can somehow come up with the cash to save it according to TMZ.
Iverson purchased the home in 2010, but defaulted on his mortgage and the bank foreclosed
The future Hall of Famer is finding things difficult at the moment. In addition to going through a divorce, Iverson has been ordered to pay $859,896.46 to Aydin & Company Jewelers. In January a judge signed off on an order which allows the store to recoup their loss directly from Iverson's Wells Fargo bank account.
**UPDATE** December 9th
A.I. is attempting to stop his mansion from being foreclosed on. It was set to be auctioned off on December 4th, but Iverson filed legal documents to put the sale on hold according to TMZ.
Iverson is going through a difficult divorce with his estranged wife and claims she signed off on the mortgage and consented to terms she knew he couldn't meet in an attempt to screw him over.
A.I.'s lawsuit has temporarily put a stop to the foreclosure proceedings, giving him extra time to try and gather up enough money to prevent the home from being sold.
