The death of 26-year old A$AP Yams has been shrouded in mystery until now. It was revealed by New York Times music critic Jon Caramanica that Yams death was drug related.
Chief Medical Examiner calls ASAP Yams's death accident caused by acute mixed drug intoxication (incl. opiates & benzodiazepine)," Caramanica wrote on Twitter.
Yams' death was devasting to the members of A$AP Mob, who contributed many of their ideas and inspiration came to him.
"You were the brilliant mind, you put us on Game you changed our lives. You changed my life, you changed the world. R.i.P YAMZ there can never be another one after you," A$AP Ferg wrote on his Instagram page at the time. "You will be missed Bro. We done touched a lot of ground together. Landed on a lot of different soil!!! You will always be loved & your spirit will live on!!!"
Yams, real name Steven Rodriguez, passed away in January.
