Music Choice has launched a new series titled "Chronicles." They will interview artists to find out what inspires them, revelations about their upbringing, get insight into the music business and more.
The first artist to be featured on the debut episode is 50 Cent.
Fif talks about his early hip hop influences from artists like Boogie Down Productions, Big Daddy Kane, The Juice Crew and EPMD.
The G-Unit mogul recalls trying to get a meeting with Chris Lighty and Violator to see if they would manage him. It was right around the time he had gotten shot and had a lot of street beefs still going on. Violator passed initially because of all the heat surrounding him. From there, 50 got the idea to start doing mixtapes his way and the rest is history.
50 also reveals that an LL Cool J song inspired him to write "21 Questions," speaks on the decision making process that went into choosing "In Da Club" over "If I Can't" as the first single off of Get Rich or Die Tryin, not letting the pressure to sell records affect what kind of records he makes because he's comfortable financially and much more.
