Alicia Keys, Shakira, Black Eyed Peas John Legend and K'naan gave great performances in front of thousands of enthusiastic fans in Soweto.
Other performers included South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela, Benin’s Angelique Kidjo, Malian singer and guitarist Vieux Farka Touré and Amadou & Mariam.
