Video After The Jump

(WFMZ) READING, Pa.- Albright College in Reading has suspended two students that the school said were most directly involved in the creation and distribution of a video that has sparked racial outrage.

The suspensions are pending further investigation and adjudication through the college's community standards process, Lex O. McMillan III, Albright's president, said Friday, adding that the students have been advised to leave campus immediately while remaining available for communications with college officials.

A series of videos posted on a social media website earlier this week show a white female Albright student in blackface. At one point, she said to the camera, "Black Lives Matter." Then, she went out into a hallway and began dancing.

The videos have since gone viral, with news organizations around the world reporting on them.

"As we continue to investigate the matter," McMillan said, "we have learned that multiple students of multiple races were involved. We will continue to review the facts of the matter so that the most appropriate sanctions for those who took part can be determined."

McMillan invited the campus community to join him, his cabinet and the student government president in an open forum Friday.

"We hope that by speaking with and listening to each other, we can take the first steps toward learning from this hurtful, offensive act," McMillan said.
