2 Chainz may want to dump his entourage and hire a security team after being robbed in broad daylight Sunday while out in San Francisco.
TMZ reports that police responded to a call of shots fired around 4:30 p.m.. When they arrived at the scene they found Tity Boi. The rapper told police he was robbed of his wallet, but didn't cooperate any further. He told them he would handle the matter himself.
Cops checked surveillance tape from the area which showed 2 Chainz was the intended target of the robbery. The footage also showed all 14 members of his crew fleeing the scene like "cockroaches running from a flashlight."
Cops are still investigating the incident.
**UPDATE** June 10th
There are conflicting reports regarding 2 Chainz's supposed robbery. Despite TMZ's earlier report, NewsRadio is reporting that a member of the rapper's entourage was the person who got robbed, not Tity Boi.
“He was not the victim of a robbery,” San Francisco police told NewsRadio in a phone call Monday (June 9). “He was there, but he wasn’t the victim.”
According to police, the rapper was walking with his entourage in the 800 block of Howard Street at about 4:30 p.m. when they were approached by a suspect carrying a handgun, who fired a gunshot. While most of the group scattered, one member of the entourage reportedly fell to the ground and was approached by the suspect, “who robbed him of an unknown item and fled the scene.”
2 Chainz himself referred to the incident via Twitter.
