The widow of Dwayne Haskins is claiming the ex-NFL star was drugged in the hours before his death ... alleging the former Steelers & Commanders quarterback was the target of a blackmail & robbery plot.

Kalabrya Haskins spelled out the allegations in a new lawsuit, that was filed in Florida.

In the documents, Kalabrya claims that on April 8 & the early morning hours of April 9, 2022, Dwayne visited 4 establishments in the Miami area & was drugged by a group of people planning to blackmail & rob him.

Kalabrya says Joey Smith, Meriem Yassine, Wissal Yassine & Karlee Peyton drugged the 26-year-old old at some point while he spent time at the Wyndham Hotel, a Drive Shack, a restaurant called the Blue Anchor Pub & E11EVEN nightclub.

According to a statement released by Kalabrya's attorney, Rick Ellsley, on Monday morning, Ellsley alleges that Dwayne's "highly-expensive watch was stolen from him shortly before his death" ... although he doesn't specify who he thinks took it.

Kalabrya is suing the 4 for battery ... while also going after the four establishments for negligence, claiming they allowed "patrons to use drugs & to drug other patrons, including [Dwayne]."

Dwayne died on April 9, 2022 ... after authorities say he was struck by a dump truck on a Florida highway. According to a Broward County Medical Examiner's Office investigation report, Dwayne had been on foot on the roadway after his rental car had ran out of gas.

Authorities said in the docs the QB "drank heavily" & ingested ketamine in the hours leading up to his passing. They said he had a blood alcohol level of .24 at the time of the accident.

Kalabrya is also going after several other people in her suit ... among them, the dump truck driver who hit Dwayne, the rental car company that Dwayne obtained his vehicle from & the Florida Department of Transportation.

On Sunday, Young M.A admitted to making plenty of "wrong decisions in her life" ... and she said, for a while, those decisions affected her ability to continue her career.

She didn't specify what bad habit she'd cut out in her sobriety, but assured fans the summer would be lit with new Young M.A music and she would be dropping a documentary that would disclose more details in due time.

The Brooklyn rapper alarmed fans in March by posting a video of herself in a barber chair ... babbling incoherently while her eyes appeared to be a dark yellow complexion.

She celebrated her 31st birthday last week, providing evidence she was in high spirits -- and this update feels like a double down on that notion.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A shooting at a bank building in downtown Louisville on Monday morning killed 5 people & wounded at least 6 others. The suspected shooter was also dead, police said.

Louisville Metro Police Department Deputy Chief Paul Humphrey told reporters officers who arrived on the scene “encountered active gunshots still being fired inside the location at that time.”

“The shooter was confirmed to be dead on the scene,” Humphrey said. “We do not know exactly the circumstances of his death at this time.”

Witnesses who left the building told Louisville station WHAS-TV they heard gunfire inside the building.

Numerous police vehicles were seen on television footage. WHAS reporters said they saw people being taken from the scene in ambulances.

In a tweet, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said he was heading to the scene.

“Please pray for all of the families impacted & for the city of Louisville,” Beshear said.

The FBI said its agents were also responding to the shooting.

The shooting happened in a building on East Main Street that houses the Old National Bank not far from the Louisville Slugger Field & Waterfront Park.

HOUSTON (Click2Houston) – Bond is set at $1 million for a Houston man accused of fatally shooting a driver.

Lydell Elliott Grant, 46, is charged with murder in the death of Edwin Arevalo, 33.

Arevalo struck a Lexus late Thursday. Investigators said the Lexus driver fatally shot Arevalo before fleeing the scene in his vehicle.

Further investigation identified Grant as the suspect in this case. He was taken into custody Friday by members of the HPD SWAT & Southwest Patrol Division Crime Suppression Teams without incident.

In 2021, Texas’ highest criminal court ruled that Grant was innocent in the fatal stabbing of a man outside a Houston bar in 2010.

The Innocence Project released this statement regarding Grant’s arrest:

"We are saddened by the news of this tragic event & our thoughts & sympathies go out to the victim’s family. As this is an ongoing investigation, we cannot comment on the specifics of this incident.

We stand behind Mr. Grant’s previous exoneration, which was granted by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. DNA evidence & the confession of the real perpetrator of the crime proved Mr. Grant’s actual innocence. His 2012 conviction was proven wrongful & he spent 8 years in prison as a result.

The important work of supporting innocent people wrongly convicted of crimes is an essential part of our collective work towards a better & more just society & we remain committed to that goal."

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — The executive director for a Northern California police union who was charged with attempting to illegally import synthetic opioids from India & other countries has been fired from her job.

Joanne Marian Segovia, who was the executive director of the San Jose Police Officers’ Association, was arrested last week on charges she attempted to unlawfully import valeryl fentanyl, a synthetic opioid. If convicted, she faces up to 20 years in prison.

Starting in 2015, Segovia had dozens of drug shipments mailed to her San Jose home from India, Hong Kong, Hungary & Singapore with manifests listing their contents as “wedding party favors,” “gift makeup,” “chocolate and sweets” & “food supplement,” according to a federal criminal complaint.

Segovia, 64, at times used her work computer to make the orders & at least once used the union’s UPS account to ship the drugs within the country, federal prosecutors said.

“The abhorrent criminal conduct alleged against Ms. Segovia must be the impetus to ensuring our internal controls at the POA are strong & that we enact any changes that could have identified the alleged conduct sooner,” said Sean Pritchard, president of the union.

Federal officials began investigating Segovia last year after finding her name & home address on the cellphone of a suspected drug dealer who is part of a network that ships controlled substances made in India to the San Francisco Bay Area, according to the complaint. That drug trafficking network has distributed hundreds of thousands of pills in 48 states, federal prosecutors said.

2 juveniles were arrested while a third underage suspect remains at large in connection with the shooting deaths of 3 teenagers in Florida.

Christopher Atkins, 12, & Robert Robinson, 17, have been charged with first-degree murder in the killings that happened in less than a 48 hour period between March 30 & April 1 in Ocklawaha.

A third suspect, 16-year-old Tahj Brewton, is still being sought by authorities.

Layla Silvernail, 16, Camille Quarles, 16 & a 17-year-old boy – who has yet to be identified – were all found shot to death in 3 separate locations.

Sheriff Billy Woods revealed Friday that he believes all 3 victims were involved in burglaries & robberies & both the victims & suspects were allegedly "associated with a gang."

"Basically, in simple terms there is no honor among thieves," the sheriff said at a press conference. "And at some point, these 3 individuals turned on our 3 victims & murdered them."

Silvernail was the first victim to be found by investigators just before 11 p.m on March 30 laying on the side of the road suffering from a gunshot wound.

The girl was rushed to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Deputies said the next morning, around 8 a.m., a 17-year-old boy who'd been fatally shot was located on the side of the road. His identity has not been revealed.

Then on April 1, at about 12:30 p.m., investigators found the body of Quarles inside the trunk of Silvernail's abandoned car which was partially submerged near the edge of a small lake. She had also been fatally shot.
