HOUSTON, Texas (KHOU) – Authorities in Texas are investigating after a plumber found what is apparently a fetus inside of a pipe in an apartment complex.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complex in Houston around 10:30 a.m. Monday.

Detectives said a plumber working outside of 1 of the apartment buildings found a fetus when he opened a pipe outside of 1 of the buildings. The fetus is believed to just be weeks old.

Neighbors said they had been complaining about backups since Friday.

A woman from the building the pipe was connected to was later taken away in an ambulance.

Neighbors were on the scene to find out what had happened.

“All I saw when I looked out my window, which is right up there, was all the police cars like, ‘What the heck is going on?’ Never thought anything like this in a million years,” one neighbor, Linda McQueen, said.

The incident remains under investigation. Detectives said it is possibly related to a miscarriage.

“We hope whoever it is comes forward & gets some medical attention because that’s sad to lose a baby like that & not tell nobody,” neighbor Paula Smith said.

According to the March of Dimes, about 80% of miscarriages happen before the 12th week of pregnancy.

Medical and emotional support is highly recommended when they occur.

When news crews first arrived at the scene, they said another woman was seen being taken away in handcuffs.

It is unclear whether this incident is related to the woman taken by ambulance.

POTTSTOWN, Pa. (AP) — An escaped murderer was captured Wednesday after eluding hundreds of searchers for 2 weeks, bringing relief to anxious residents of southeastern Pennsylvania who endured sleepless nights as he hid in the woods, broke into suburban homes for food, changed his appearance & fled under gunfire with a rifle pilfered from a garage.

Authorities used thermal imaging from aircraft to pinpoint a possible location & then used ground forces to capture escaped inmate Danelo Souza Cavalcante.

Aerial video footage showed a handcuffed man in a gravel lot & wearing a grey, long-sleeve shirt with law enforcement officers holding both arms. Later, the man stands at the back of an armored vehicle while an officer cuts the back of the shirt from neck to waist.

The end to the search for Cavalcante, 34, unfolded just beyond Philadelphia’s suburbs, in an area of woods, rolling farmland & a county park. The search forced schools to close, led to warnings for homeowners to lock their doors & blocked roads.

Cavalcante escaped from the Chester County jail in southeastern Pennsylvania on Aug. 31 by crab-walking up between 2 walls that were topped with razor wire, then jumping from the roof & dashing away. He had been awaiting transfer to state prison after being sentenced days earlier for fatally stabbing his girlfriend & is wanted in connection with another killing in Brazil.

Houston Rockets guard Kevin Porter Jr. was arrested in New York City on Monday for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, former WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick.

Porter, 23, is in custody at the NYPD’s 17th Precinct in midtown Manhattan.

Porter returned early Monday morning from an evening out to the Millennium Hotel in Times Square, where he & Gondrezick were staying. Gondrezick was upset with the late hour of his return and locked the door, according to police sources. Once he entered with the help of hotel security, Porter beat up the woman.

The extent of Gondrezick’s injuries was not immediately clear.

Domestic assault charges are pending against Porter.

Porter was drafted with the No. 30 pick in the 2019 NBA draft out of the University of Southern California, but has developed into a star player for the Rockets. He had his best career season in 2022-23 with 19.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game.

Gondrezick, 26, played college basketball for Michigan and West Virginia, before being drafted No. 4 overall in the 2021 WNBA draft by Indiana. She played 1 season for the Fever before being waived. She has not played the last 2 WNBA seasons & is currently a free agent.

Porter was previously arrested in November 2020 in Ohio on a weapons charge, but a grand jury declined to indict him. However, the Cleveland Cavaliers made him inactive for the first half of the season & he was traded to Houston in January 2021.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - A Henderson man accused of murdering a man & then writing a song about it has been arrested for homicide.

Kenjuan McDaniel, 25, was arrested Aug. 29 on charges of open murder with a deadly weapon & violation of probation. He is being held without bail as of Tuesday evening.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department alleges that on Sept. 18, 2021 officers responded to a call of a shooting.

Investigators found the alleged victim, Randall Wallace, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police they saw a Black male fleeing from the area in an unknown white vehicle at the time of the shooting.

Witnesses also told police they believed Wallace wasn’t the intended victim of the shooting but did not know who the shooter was. However, a month later 1 of the same witnesses came forward & said they had more information but did not want to be labeled a snitch.

Police were able to obtain information leading to the suspect being identified as McDaniel.

On July 17, 2023, a detective observed a YouTube video posted by “The Biggest Finn 4800″ titled “Fadee Free,” & included the lyrics:

“I be the reason why he’s dead, we still taunt him when he die, not the reason he’s dead, so celebrate the reason why his momma cry.”

The report breaks down the lyrics line by line as to what McDaniel is referring to in his song, taking credit for the murder of Wallace & including information that was never released to the public regarding the shooting.

McDaniel was arrested at his home without incident last week. His next hearing is Sept. 7.
