Tory Lanez Denied New Lawyer, Totally Despondent In Jail As He Awaits A Possible 22-Year Prison Sentence And Deportation To Canada For Megan Thee Stallion Shooting

Tory Lanez has been denied new counsel after potential defense lawyer Ronda Renee Dixon accused his current reps of taking advantage of the singer/rapper. According to legal journalist Meghann Cuniff, Lanez wants Dixon to step in & work under Jose Baez, replacing Matthew Barhoma.

On Wednesday (July 12), Cuniff tweeted out the judge’s decision & also shared a prior conversation between herself & Dixon.

“These guys are just taking advantage of [Lanez],” Cuniff claims Dixon stated. “They’ve had him sign powers of attorneys. They’re acting on his behalf. … They’re not really asking him what he wants.”

Cuniff also recalled Dixon’s meeting with the 30-year-old entertainer. “His eyes were black. He was totally despondent,” Dixon said. “He told me he wanted to go to state prison. I said, ‘You want to go to state prison? Why?'” to which Lanez responded “At least I’ll be able to go out in the yard & talk to people.'”

“That upset me. I don’t think he’s guilty,” she admitted.

In Dixon’s motion to join Lanez’s legal team, she argued that the Sorry 4 What rapper has been treated poorly while incarcerated because of his celebrity status.

“Merely because he is well known, the Sheriff has decided that Mr. Peterson is of such great threat that he must be confined in the same manner as those convicted of serial rape charges & murder,” Dixon wrote in her motion.

Sentencing was originally scheduled for Jan. 2, a month after he was found guilty & then pushed to Feb. 28 because he changed counsel. During that court date, Lanez filed a motion for a new trial, to which he was denied.

Lanez is now facing a maximum sentence of 22 years & 8 months after being found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot. He also faces possible deportation to Canada.

Tennesse Doctor Fatally Shot By Man In His Exam Room For No Apparent Reason. Suspect Arrested, Held On $1 Million Bond (Video)

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The health care worker who was fatally shot inside a clinic exam room in a Memphis suburb has been identified as a doctor, according to the facility, though details of what prompted the attack remained unclear Wednesday.

Police identified the suspect on Wednesday as 29-year-old Larry Pickens of Memphis & said he has been charged with first-degree murder & aggravated assault.

Pickens had reportedly been at the clinic for several hours before the shooting. The suspect was found with a gun 5 minutes after the shooting.

“We are shocked & heartbroken to confirm the incident resulted in the tragic loss of one of our highly respected and beloved physicians, Dr. Ben Mauck,” the Campbell Clinic said in a statement

Authorities did not give a motive & declined to release more information citing the ongoing investigation.

In addition to working at Campbell Clinic, Mauck also was on staff as a surgeon at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.

Pickens’ bond is set at $1.2 million & he’s set to see a judge Thursday morning.

Pedophile Sports Doctor Larry Nassar, Who Was Convicted Of Sex Crimes Against Female Olympic Gymnasts, Is Stabbled Multiple Times In The Chest And Back While In Florida Prison

Former US national gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar has been stabbed several times at a Florida prison.

Nassar, serving up to 175 years for molesting gymnasts, received multiple injuries during a fight with another inmate on Sunday.

He is reportedly in hospital in stable condition & is said to have suffered a collapsed lung.

The 59-year-old was jailed for sexually assaulting athletes he worked with & possession of child pornography.

During the assault, Nassar was stabbed twice in the neck, twice in the back and six times in the chest, a prison union leader told NBC News.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed an inmate was assaulted at United States Penitentiary Coleman in Florida, where the disgraced former doctor is serving time.

"Responding staff immediately initiated life-saving measures." The inmate was taken to a local hospital "for further treatment & evaluation".

An internal investigation has been launched & no staff or other inmates were injured in the incident.

Nassar admitted to sexually assaulting athletes while he worked with the USA Gymnastics program & Michigan State University, where he maintained a clinic.

More than 330 women & girls at USA Gymnastics & Michigan State University have accused Nassar of sexual abuse.

Olympic gold medallists Simone Biles, Aly Raisman & McKayla Maroney have all testified about surviving Nassar's abuse.

Several women who were sexually assaulted by Nassar - including Raisman, Biles & Maroney - have sued the FBI for $1 billion for mishandling credible complaints of sexual assault.

USA Gymnastics has agreed to pay $380 million to Nassar's victims, while Michigan State reached a $500 million settlement with survivors.

U.S. Marine Under Investigation For Alleged Sex Crimes After 14-Year Old Missing, Possibly Human Trafficked California Girl Is Found In Barracks At Camp Pendleton

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (Fox11) - A missing 14-year-old girl was found in Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton & a U.S. Marine has been taken into custody.

The teen was reported missing June 13 by her grandmother in San Diego, who told authorities she'd run away from home just days prior.

The teen was located on June 28 in the barracks of Camp Pendleton by military police, who then notified local authorities.

Officials said the teen, whose family says has learning disabilities, was interviewed & has since returned home to her grandmother.

A Marine with Combat Logistics Battalion 5, 1st Marine Logistics Group was taken into custody for questioning by the Naval Criminal Investigative Services (NCIS) – the lead agency handling the investigation – on June 28.

The Marine has not been identified & it's not known if he'll be facing any charges.

It's not clear at this time what the Marine's connection is with the teen, but her family alleges she was sold to a Marine for sex.

A woman who identified herself as the girl's aunt, Casaundra Perez, posted a TikTok video that has since gone viral, alleging her niece was raped at the Camp Pendleton military barracks.

"They're trying to cover it up & place the majority of the blame on her. However, the reality is the whole facility allowed this to happen," Perez said in the video. "The security looked her in the face & allowed this man to bring a minor onto the base, where he proceeded to have sex with her. Due to her age, she could not have given this consent."

NCIS is handling the investigation because Camp Pendleton is federal property.

The sheriff's department and the San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force are supporting NCIS with the investigation.

Florida Husband Charged With Attempted Murder After Severely Beating His Wife's Lover With A Baseball Bat After Catching Them In Bed Together

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (ClickOrlando) – A Palm Beach County man was arrested in June & accused of beating another man with a baseball bat after finding him in bed with his wife.

Deputies said they were called to an apartment around 11 p.m. on June 17 after receiving calls about an “armed domestic dispute.”

Upon arrival, they found that the apartment was covered in blood, with “streaks leading into the bedroom,” an affidavit states. Deputies said a man at the scene was found bleeding heavily & he was taken to the hospital as a trauma alert.

Deputies said that the victim told them he & a coworker had gone out for drinks prior to coming back to the apartment, which was rented as an Airbnb.

A woman at the scene explained that she had been laying down in the bed with her coworker when her husband — identified as 33-year-old John Dimmig — came in through the apartment’s front door with an aluminum baseball bat.

The woman added that Dimmig then began hitting the man with his bat before screaming something to the effect of “Don’t come near my (explicit) wife again.”

Investigators said that after beating the man, Dimmig left the apartment. In a later interview with the victim, deputies said he told them that he felt as though Dimmig “was out to kill me.”

Dimmig was later found at his home in Lake Park. He reportedly told investigators that he had been at home all day, and he denied ever hitting anyone with his baseball bat.

After reviewing surveillance footage of the apartment & finding a ripped t-shirt with apparent blood in Dimmig’s home, deputies took Dimmig into custody.

Dimmig faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery & burglary with assault or battery.
