Video After The Jump

One of the most impactful artists of the 1990’s has returned after an 18 year hiatus. The super group responsible for unforgettable records such as “Come and Talk to Me,” “Forever My Lady,” and “Feenin” gave fans a sneak peek at their newest record “Nobody Wins” with a performance at the Soul Train Awards last month on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014. Jodeci performed a snippet of the record as part of a medley performance of the group’s most popular hit songs.

Now Jodeci has followed up the Soul Train Awards performance with a lyric video for “Nobody Wins” with an anti-domestic violence message. The video is available now at: http://youtu.be/Q2Ce7hpNV2o

In fact, Jodeci has continued to record records over the past 18 years. However, the group didn’t feel a cohesive creative direction until now. "We've recorded hundreds of songs, even if it's bits and pieces and fragments of songs that we could probably live off of for the rest of our lives," Mr. Dalvin explained to RollingStone Magazine. "But when creating this album, we chose a body of work that really represents us as a group and represents what people are expecting to hear from Jodeci as a group. People will be pleasantly surprised."

Jodeci feels that now is the time to return with new music. But the group feels that their return comes with a responsibility. As an important group that has always had a voice in culture, Jodeci wants to return with great music that also serves to entertain and inspire. “Nobody Wins” is a record that discourages domestic violence and violence in general and is a message personal to each member of Jodeci.

“We aren’t immune to issues that are important in our community. Domestic violence has always been an issue in relationships, but lately it’s been brought to the front of our community consciousness,” K-Ci explains.

Jodeci is scheduling the release of their new album in the first quarter of 2015, which will officially celebrate the powerhouse group’s triumphant return to music.

“Nobody Wins” is available for purchase at iTunes at: http://smarturl.it/JodeciNobodyWins

And available at Amazon at:http://smarturl.it/jodecinobodywinsamz

Video After The Jump

Iggy Azalea has accused ex-boyfriend Jefe Wine of stealing data, including unreleased master recordings from her computer in 2009, when the two were dating.

Iggy filed a federal lawsuit in California against Wine in September. She alleges that the rapper, real name Maurice Williams, illegally released an EP entitled Inizio earlier this year, which contained material pilfered from her computer.

12351299301?profile=original

Iggy's lawyer fired off a cease-and-desist letter in August successfully removing the EP from all retail outlets. Wine argued that he has a contract with the Australian rapper giving him the rights to release all music and videos recorded during his time with her. That material includes a sex tape that may or may not ever see the light of day.

The signature on the contract is a forgery, according to Iggy's camp.

12351301299?profile=original

Meanwhile, Wine has asked to have the upcoming trial moved from L.A. to his hometown of Houston. Iggy wants that request rejected. The "Fancy" hit maker says she fears for her safety if the trial is moved to H-Town because her ex is "vindictive and violent" and would be in his comfort zone at home, according to TMZ.

We'll update the story once a judge hands down a ruling.

James Woods is taking aim at political activist Rev. Al Sharpton. The actor went on an angry Twitter tirade Sunday, December 21, blaming Sharpton for the murders of NYPD Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu.

12351299052?profile=original

The two policemen were murdered on Saturday when gunman Ismaaiyl Abdullah Brinsley, 28, shot them execution style while they sat in their patrol car on a Brooklyn, New York street.

Brinsley referenced Eric Garner and Michael Brown, two African American men who were killed by cops earlier this year in an Instagram message where he declared his intentions to kill police officers on Saturday.

Ismaaiyl Brinsley

"I'm putting wings on pigs today. They take 1 of ours, let's take 2 of theirs," Brinsley wrote. "#Shootthepolice #RIPErivGardner #RIPMikeBrown. This may be my final post. I'm putting pigs in a blanket."

12351299074?profile=original

Brinsley later committed suicide.

12351298699?profile=original

Sharpton has been at the forefront of peaceful protests for Garner and Brown, calling for a change in police policies regarding the handling of minorities. He has also been a spokesman for Garner's family

In Woods' opinion Sharpton has done nothing more than incite racial tensions and hatred for cops.

12351299852?profile=original

"This disgusting pig is DIRECTLY responsible for the murder of two good policemen. No Discussion," Woods wrote. "Is Race Pimp Sharpton eating caviar this morning?"

12351299693?profile=original

12351300058?profile=original

Woods didn't spare New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio during his diatribe. He retweeted a message labeling him the worst city leader in America and called for his resignation. He also suggested President Obama and Sharpton were somehow in cahoots.

.15897295807_ffd1f18348_b.jpg

Expect more of these kinds of outbursts from people on both sides of the police policy reform issue.

Video And Pics After The Jump

NEW YORK (Associated Press) — Big-city police departments and union leaders around the country are warning the rank and file to wear bulletproof vests and avoid making inflammatory posts on social media in the days after a man ambushed two officers and shot them to death inside their patrol car.

The slayings of Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu on Saturday afternoon in Brooklyn heightened fears about the safety of law enforcement officials nationwide, though authorities haven't said if they believe any threats are imminent. The gunman, 28-year-old Ismaaiyl Brinsley, had vowed in an Instagram post to put "wings on pigs" as retaliation for the slayings of black men at the hands of white police.

Brinsley was black; the slain New York Police Department officers were Hispanic and Asian.

Investigators are trying to determine if Brinsley had taken part in any protests over the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, whose names he invoked in his online threat, or simply latched onto the cause for the final act in a violent rampage.

12351300478?profile=original

Eric Garner (left) and Michael Brown

The slayings come at a tense time as police nationwide are being criticized following Garner's death in a New York officer's chokehold and Brown's fatal shooting in Ferguson, Missouri. Protests erupted in recent weeks after grand juries declined to charge the officers involved.

After the officers' killings, a union-generated message at the 35,000-officer NYPD warned officers that they should respond to every radio call with two cars — "no matter what the opinion of the patrol supervisor" — and not make arrests "unless absolutely necessary." The president of the detectives' union told members in a letter to work in threes when out on the street, wear bulletproof vests and keep aware of their surroundings.

12351300668?profile=original

Another directive warned officers in Newark, New Jersey, not to patrol alone and to avoid people looking for confrontations. At the same time, a memo from an NYPD chief asked officers to limit their comments "via all venues, including social media, to expressions of sorrow and condolence."

In Philadelphia, Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey urged the leaders of protests over the deaths of Garner and Brown to "call for calm and not let this escalate any further." In Boston, Police Commissioner William Evans said police issued an alert warning officers about the New York City slayings and added that the department had issued several alerts following the Ferguson grand jury's decision.

At a news conference in New York on Sunday, Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce detailed Brinsley's long criminal record, hatred for police and the government and apparent history of mental instability that included an attempt to hang himself a year ago.

Brinsley had at least 19 arrests in Georgia and Ohio, spent two years in prison for gun possession and had a troubled childhood so violent that his mother was afraid of him, police said. He ranted online about authority figures and expressed "self-despair and anger at himself and where his life was," Boyce said.

12351301284?profile=original

Ismaaiyl Brinsley

Hours before shooting the officers, Brinsley had shot and wounded his ex-girlfriend, Shaneka Thompson, at her home in Baltimore.

"He shot me! I don't want to die. I don't want to die," Thompson screamed, according to neighbor Yevette Seay. She told The Associated Press she called 911 as Thompson lay on the floor, clutching her stomach. Authorities have said Thompson is expected to survive.

After leaving Baltimore, authorities said, Brinsley took a bus north to New York City and used Thompson's phone to write on Instagram: "They take 1 of ours, let's take 2 of theirs." He ended the post with references to the Brown and Garner cases.

12351299074?profile=original

Once in New York and shortly before he opened fire on the officers, Brinsley walked up to people on the street and asked them to follow him on Instagram, then told them, "Watch what I'm going to do," Boyce said. Then Brinsley approached the squad car and fired four shots, killing the policemen. He ran into the subway station and committed suicide.

12351301695?profile=original

At the site of the shooting, a makeshift memorial with an NYPD baseball cap, flowers, teddy bears and candles lay Sunday in remembrance of the officers.

460x.jpg

Police Commissioner William Bratton placed flowers at the memorial and visited both officers' families after attending Sunday Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral with Mayor Bill de Blasio.

12351302454?profile=original

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio

De Blasio's relationship with rank-and-file police has been so fractious that their union president recently suggested officers sign a petition telling the mayor not to attend their funerals if they died on duty. But one of Ramos' relatives said the family would welcome a visit from the mayor, who visited both officers' families at the hospital Saturday but did not see them Sunday.

"If he wants to come and show support, by all means, we'll accept that," said Ramos' cousin Ronnie Gonzalez.

Ramos' 13-year-old son, Jaden, said in a Facebook post that Saturday was the worst day of his life.

"Today I had to say bye to my father," Jaden wrote. "He was the best father I could ask for. It's horrible that someone gets shot dead just for being a police officer. Everyone says they hate cops but they are the people that they call for help."

Associated Press writers Verena Dobnik, Mike Balsamo and Deepti Hajela in New York and Juliet Linderman in Baltimore contributed to this report.
